20 most iconic video game characters of all time

I am one of those who's childhood was defines by those 8-bit console games. Once the computers were more readily available, more and more graphic intensive games were played and legends were made. Some of the characters in these games have created the franchise of games we now know. Some of them changed our perceptions towards how the games are meant to be played.

I am putting the best characters we, the gamers, identify ourselves with.

1. "Mario" from the Super Mario Bros.

Out of all games released so far, none have created a world wide phenomenon like Mario. From the old 8-bit consoles in 90s to the modern Nintendo consoles and spin off PC versions, almost every gamer identify this iconic figure.

The game was such a hit that there were two movies made on it where Lara Croft's role was played by none other than Angelina Julie.

Even today, tomb raider rules the Xbox One/PS4 world with the latest installation scoring high among gamers.

This was even before the Resident Evil movie series became popular.
